Into the Night

So, it appears I have once again, well and truly been cursed with insomnia. It's 00:56 and I'm not even a little bit tired. I have a sore throat, but tired I am not. So I've decided to do a sort of photo-blog type thing of my last month or so, just pictures off my iPhone- my real camera is broken (I'm trying to decided whether to ask the parents for one for a good one for a graduation present, I've been asking for a Mulberry Bayswater, but clearly that aint gonna happen!!) So here we go, stuck with the iphone pics!

Tesco
I had a post modernsim essay a few weeks ago, this random combination, somehow got me through...

Taylor Swift
The lovely Hannah Traynor (see this months Company magazine for her modelling skills!!) jetted off to Manchester to see Taylor Swift! It was fab, my fist gig in way too long, but wonderful all the same. This night ended with us stumbling into a silent disco at work, and drinking vodka and orange until 7 in the morning! Oops...

Mothers Day
As I previously mentioned, I went home for Mothers Day, and boring though Derbyshire is, we had a nice afternoon (nice as far as spending time with my whole family goes...) at Hassop Hall with all the posh coffin dodgers! My eldest brother (and therefore the youngest two) zoomed off straight after dessert to "go lambing." He's a farmer/shepherd, when I mentioned this the other day, someone at work actually asked if shepherds still exist.... (My shirt here is from Grace Boutique in Matlock, which is lovely...it looks better hung up than it does on me here though!)

Small haul/ Work night out
Dress from H&M (£7.99- bargain!) is so pretty, looks lovely, it needs heels but is SO short I had to turn it down as an outfit choice for a very drunken night out with lots of boys! I actually ended up wearing the dusky pink shirt (Peacocks £16- £12.60 w/student discount) and a pair of Abercrombie and Fitch cut off denim shorts I've had for years (the only perk when my dad lived in Nebraska was the mass amounts of Abercrombie stuff he bought back with him!) pink and wood wedges from New Look, last summer and Hannah's River Island pink snakeskin clutch. I got the shorts pictured from Primark last summer (I think.) I think I've only worn them once or twice but when I tried them on they just look hideous...They were always too big, but my god, they looked awful. Think they're headed into the "bag for charity shop." The next outfit is H&M top which I adore, and have already worn to death, I'm going to get it in another pattern definitely, I love it. Worn with bog standard Primark leggings and a necklace I've had since sixth form, can't remember for the life of me where it's from...I want to say Topshop, but it's not very topshop-y is it? Next, Como in a can, from trusty Home Bargains. I drank it straight from the can in order to feel like a real student/the type of young woman the daily mail writes about/not a snob, and it wasn't great, but I recon, out of a glass, really cold it could be quite nice! I was too busy drinking this to take a picture of the final going-out outfit, btw! oops... (must try harder to blog better!)

Tuesday night with the Carnlough boys...
Last week, Luke had friends from home to stay with us, it was supposed to be just for the one night, but they ended up staying Monday and Tuesday. I was actually really pleased about this because it meant I got a night out with them as well! There's no outfit post from this because I got ready (hair, make up, clothes, everything) in literally 15 minutes and I looked a state. It was a leggings, flats and sheer bottle green shirt night...I felt gross, but drank way too much Jaegermeister to care... Anyway, on our mass crawl around town, we stumbled into heebie jeebies (Seel street- a must for anyone coming to Liverpool!) and found this bloke and a similarly inebriated girl. I honestly thought they were creepy additions the the furniture, they looked like wax figures, but no, they were SO drunk they had fallen asleep in the club...it was about  11.30?! Disgraceful! Obviously the boys found this hilarious and took many a picture of them, with them, ON them, even. The other photo-worthy moment of the night, was when I realised (and freaked out) that a wall in Bumper (Hardman street) was decorated with pictures of this dummy. Took me right back to reading Night of the Living Dummy as a child. Scary stuff, and I don't know how I've never noticed before!

The shire

Ok, so it's 2:36am. I am at my parents house, it's cold, the air is too dry, the dog is snoring, my dad is snoring and my little brother took the flicker out of his room (which is my room for the weekend) because he bought the TV and therefore I'm not allowed to watch it. My family is officially crazy. My dad came back from New York tonight...and instead of telling tales of Central Park and 5th Avenue shops, he lectures me about how I haven't got a job sorted for when uni finishes yet...2 weeks ago he was telling me not to worry and not think about it until I had done my exam.  What am I supposed to do. Clearly I can only keep one person happy at a time, and right now that person is the BF, although I'm starting to think perhaps I should focus on my own personal happiness. And also eat less popcorn...

On a brighter note, Mother and I are supposed to be going to Grace's boutique in Matlock tomorrow, I'm rather excited as I've heard fabby things about the shop (Mum has pretty much bought a whole new wardrobe from there since it opened) and my friend Kathryn has done some of her uni project about them this year, so hopefully mother will treat me to something pretty to wear to mothers day lunch on Sunday (which we have never, ever done before...but is this year, apparently important enough for my parents to force me to come down the week before the easter break and I'm finished with classes) as all of my clothes suck right now. I'm actually at the stage where I'm borrowing friends clothes for nights out, which is just not me.

If anyone reads this, I would like to apologise about the fact that I have totally messed up my blogging, I wanted a pattern and to post every other day... Once uni is finished, or over the easter holidays, this hopefully will happen. I also aim to watch less Grey's Anatomy in order to get the hallowed 2:1. I will pretty much write about anything, I'll review books, clothes, make up, moan about my bad hair days, very well rounded, fingers crossed!

Until Next Time,

And so ends another day

Well, I don't really have anything to say. This last week or so has been hideous. My head is crammed with uni crap that I don't want to think about and of course the question of exactly what I'm going to do when I finish. In a month and a half. A MONTH AND A HALF. Ideas on a post card please?! Because I am totally stuck. I refuse to go home, I will not be defeated.
Also my camera broke, so although I want to do OOTD/FOTD posts I can't because I just get a blank screen when I turn the bloody thing on!! Arghhhh. So I have spent my weekend watching Greys Anatomy, trying not think of how shit everything is, and also, how all my stupid problems pale in comparison to what happened/is happening in Japan, which is horrific, I wish I could do something.

Anyway, to cheer myself up, and anyone who may read this I thought I would post a nice picture of Dr Mcdreamy. mmmm. I'm also listening to Michael Buble. mmm. smooth.

Oh, before I forget, the amount I hate irish girls in Liverpool is on the increase...Last night in work, as we were running around like blue arsed flies to serve the 100's of customers 25p (yes, 25p, you read that right!!!!!!) vodka rmixers, a girl not even stood at my bar started screaming "come on wee woman, hurry up wee woman, vodka white, vodka white wee woman" that is SO not OK. I don't care how busy it is, be rude to me and I will serve you as-last-as-possible. Also, NEVER call me "wee woman" EWWWW. Because of that silly little girl, anybody who asked for "vodka white" for the rest of the night got asked what exactly they meant by "white" (lemonade) - I also threw in the occasional "milk? really?" just for my own amusement.

Hopefully I'll be cheerier in the next post!

Evening all...

Well, hello.

Today has been rather odd... I got the worlds smallest sofa (literally) delivered this morning, and I can't get my head around why my landlord would order such a small settee! Me and my (very skinny) BF can't sit on it without knocking elbows... I can see this causing arguments! In fact, I will take a photo just because it is such a joke...
The Worlds Smallest Sofa.
See! Not even two posters wide! No snuggling on this baby!!

My eyes then decided to close so I had to have a nap... Uni has meant that I really struggle getting through the day without a nap, quite how I'm going to adjust when I enter the real world I don't know! After eventually dragging my lazy ass out of bed, I ventured to town... I was going to do either an OOTD or FOTD photo but I hated my wardrobe and just threw on an old plaid shirt, leggings and top shop belt, and my make up just didn't work. I 'invested' in some MAC foundation, strobe cream and concealer but I think I'm allergic to the foundation, I have quite dry skin, yet no matter how much I exfoliate and moisturise the foundation just makes my skin look awful, all dry and flaky- not a good look! If anyone has any tips on how to stop this let me know please! I've been using ELF tinted moisturiser recently which isn't quite as drying (although a lot thicker with better coverage then the MAC) and for £1.50 I can't complain, which is why I'm quite disappointed with MAC as it's so expensive!  I had a lovely catch up and a wee gossip with a friend from work then a chinese buffet with the BF.
Nothing anything else interesting has happened...and writing this has made me want to march into MAC and ask for a refund and a free makeup tutorial but instead I'm going to watch Gossip Girl and wonder why random people off the street don't walk into their apartments due to them not having front doors, just lift entrances.

Until next time...

First Ever Blog Post...

So! As the title suggests, this is my first ever blog post. I don't really know what this blog is going to be about to be perfectly honest but I seem to be spending an awful lot of time when I should be studying reading beauty and fashion blogs and thought starting my own blog would be a nice way to procrastinate even more :) I'll probably just mundanely ramble on about my boring little life, clothes I want to buy, places I want to visit, books I'm reading or have read and actors I fancy, but hey ho, everyone has to start somewhere!

Edited tree which I'm rather proud of :)
Today me and the bf went to Greenbank Park, in Wavertree, Liverpool for an exercise in becoming friends again... I took pictures of Canadian Geese and he complained when I started talking to a King Charles Spaniel. I have a bit of a strange thing in which when I take pictures I have to (very, very basically) edit the colours and things in them... above is one I took this afternoon which I actually think is quite nice. Oddly, in the park there was a half eaten can of sweetcorn, just sitting there, like a fisherman had forgotten to take his lunch with him. Obviously this also had to be photographed, although this picture proves how truly horrific my photography skills are. Hopefully my dad will let me loose with his Nikon DSLR next time I'm home ;)

Isn't that odd!? It was just sat there...
Anyway, I think that's quite enough for now. I'm going to read a few pages of Richard Brautigan's "Trout Fishing in America." I rather enjoyed "In Watermelon Sugar" which I read in 45minutes on Sunday night, but "Trout Fishing..." seems rather more disjointed and post-modern so perhaps not as good. I'm sure I'll end up jibbering about it when it's finished anyway. Also, if anyone actually reads this, I'm looking to start watching a new TV series... I wanted to watch Greys Anatomy but ALAS! there was no megavideo link on surfthechannel for it, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Until next time...
